Hi Ngan from San Francisco, CA...hope you had a great day at school.
Okay...great question...I've use this before with my students.
Now...I'm going to give you two hints to solve this, but I won't answer it for you, because once you learn how to answer these kinds of questions, you'll be a pro. Giving the answer to you would be too easy.
Hint...from the first part of the word problem: "A square'...which should tell you that the definition of the polygon is that each of the sides of the figure are ALL EQUAL!
Second hint of the word problem: "...the area of the square is 67cm2
Third hint...which you should know, what is the formula for calculating the area of a polygon, in this case a square:
side x side = area of polygon
and since this is a square, all the sides are equal...so we'll say:
s cm x s cm = 67cm2
Since we multiply both sides, both equal we can write:
s2 cm = 67cm2
So...what would you do to find out what s = ?cm
You should be able to do this, I've given you enough hints.
