1 + 2 + ... + n = O(n ^2) true or false

 is the statement true or false ? this is just a quiz question and i have no clue for this so help would me much appreciated

O(n2) is abbreviation for "on the order of n2".  (Not the best notation, I grant.)  Your solution makes the statement TRUE.  If I recall correctly, Gauss derived that formula as a kid in an elementary math class, and was accused by his teacher of cheating because he got the answer quickly.
