What if we were instead told to find (fog)(x)?

Given f(x) = 3x-2 and g(x) = x2 + 3x +1
Find (fog)(x)

f(g(x)) = f(x2+3x+1) =

3(x2+3x+1) - 2 =

3x2 + 9x + 3 - 2 =

3x2 + 9x + 1

Apply the given function to whatever is inside the f(x) or g(x) parenthesis.  Understand?

Yep thank you I understand the part I kept tripping up on was that I didn't know you were supposed to replace both x in x^2+3x+1
so thanks I got it now
