Good evening. There are several ways to solve problems like this. This is how I would approach it:
Let x equal the total number of employees
3 out of 16 and 5 out of 8 (or 10 out of 16) have an opinion. 13/16 employees have an opinion, 3/16 do not have any opinion.
Therefore: 3/16*(x) = 150
Multiply both sides by 16 you will get
3x = 2400
Divide both sides by 3
x = 800 total employees
If 3 out of 16 liked, the plan, we just multiply the total (800) by 3/16
150 employees liked the plan
