There are 378 students who are enrolled in an introductory biology course. If there are five boys to every two girls, how many boys are in the course?

Verifying from experience with poorly written problems, that the students come out as whole numbers and not fractions, for every five boys there are two girl.  Five boys plus two girls are seven students.  
 
Dividing 378 by this group of seven students results in 54 groups of five boys and two girls.  Since there are five boys in each group, there are 54 * 5 boys.  Can you solve the rest?

There are 54 groups with 5 boys in each group.  54 * 5 = 270 boys.
 
To check,
The same 54 groups have two girls each.  54 * 2 = 108 girls
 
270 + 108 = 378, the same # of students in the class..
