One way is to find the ft/min rate and multiply by 6:
10 ft in 2 1/2 mins = 10/( 2 1/2) ft/min = 10/(5/2) = 4 ft/min
If he goes 4 ft/min for 6 mins then he goes
4(6) = 24 ft

Alternatively using proportions:
10:2.5::x:6
2.5x = 10(6)
x = 60/2.5
x = 24
10/2.5 = x/6
solve for x
x = (10/2.5)(6) = 24 ft
x = 24
3 ways to set this up.. All giving answer of 24 feet
