A CSX freight train is traveling 14 km/h slower than an Amtrak passenger train. The CSX train travels 330 km in the same time that it takes the Amtrak to travel 400 km. find their speeds.

Let Amtrak speed be A, so that CSX train's speed is A-14.

DIST =RATE (TIME)

330 = (A-14)T

400 = AT

 

There you have two equations in two unknowns (A & T).  Solve for T in the 2nd equation, then substitute into the first equation; use Algebra to solve for A, etc.

 

You can do it--I've done the setup for you, which is probably what you need. Study THAT so that you can do similar problems on your own in the future--that's the whole point of schooling.
