f(x) = a(x - h)2 + k
f(x) = ax2 + 48
0 = 324a + 48
-48 = 324a
-4/27 = a
f(x) = -4x2/27 + 48
Half way up f(x) = 24
24 = -4x2/27 + 48

The width of the parabola is 36. If the vertex is at (0, 48), then the two x-intercepts are (-18, 0), and (18, 0)
When doing a problem of this type best to make a sketch to see how the numbers are related.
