At the end of the day, a pharmacist counted and found she has 4/3 as many prescriptions for antibiotics as she did for tranquilizers. She had 48 prescriptions for tge two types of drugs. How many prescriptions did she have for tranquilizers?

A = 4/3T

 

A + t = 48

 

4/3t + t = 48

 

7/3t = 48

 

t =144/7 =  20 and 4/7

 

A = (4/3)(144/7) = 4*48/7 = 192/7 = 27 and 3/7
