Is it possible to transfer to another college with a different major choice?

I'm currently attending a community college for a New Media Technology major in NY, but when I finish community college, I want to transfer to a 4 year college for a animation major. Is that possible? Will I lose my credits? Can I transfer early and go straight to a 4 year college?

It is definitely possible to transfer from a community college (or other college) to a different college and switch your major. Colleges vary in terms of which courses will carry over to your new college and/or to your new degree program. To find out how much would transfer over, you would need to contact the Admissions folks and possibly the academic advisors for the new college you seek to attend.
