Pi

George W.

asked • 08/17/17

Is it true that it is impossible to divide a circle in half?

Given that pi cannot be divided in half, does it follow that circle can not be divided in half? If so, what implications does this have?

Arturo O.

π can be divided by 2, resulting in π/2, which is just another irrational number, no more "impossible" than (√2)/2, (√3)/2, etc.

My point is the 2 numbers (halves) can never be equal. Does this have any significance in the real world?
