A^2 + B^2 = C^2 <--- this is the Pythagorean theorem
15^2 + 20^2 = c^2 <--- the measure of the legs are given as A=15 and B=20
225 + 400 = c^2 <--- 15^2 = 15*15 = 225; likewise 20^2 = 20*20 =400
625 = c^2 <---- adds them together
25 = c <--- takes the positive square root of both sides because the length of the triangle cannot be negative
The length of the hypotenuse C = 25
