d=45(t-[1/6])   (10 min=1/6 of an hour)

equate the equations because they both are equal to d

42t=45(t-[1/6])

42t=45t-(45/6)

45t-42t=45/6

3t=45/6

t=45/18

t=2.5 hours

7:00+2:30=9:30 am is the time when the passenger train catches the freight train
