A window is shaped like a rectangle whose perimeter is 308 in. The length is 10 times as long as the width.  Find the length and width

P = 2(L + W) = 308 in

 

Given:  L = 10W

 

Equation to solve:

 

2(10W + W) = 2(11W) = 308

 

22W = 308

 

W = 308/22 in = 14 in

 

L = 10W = 10(14 in) = 140 in
