This question is simple math, and can be done with a calculator or by hand very quickly. Half-dollars are equivalent to $0.50, and there are 30 of them. If 2 half-dollars is equal to $1.00, then we can divide the number of half-dollars by two and obtain the answer, a.k.a. 30/2 = 15, and therefore there are $15 in half-dollars. The same reasoning can be applied to the quarters; if four quarters = $1.00, then we can divide 120/4 ( = $30) and obtain the dollar amount. Add the two together, and you have the monetary value of the coins.
