Lis G.

the question is, after a five percent raise, what is the new salary? --- the new salary is x. --- the old salary is y. --- 5% = 5/100 = 0.05 --- x = (1)(y)+ (0.05)(y) --- x = (1.05)(y) --- y = $25,100 --- x = (1.05)($25,100) --- x = $26,355.
