equation 1
L = 2W-5
equation 2
area = LW = 375
from equation 2, L = 375/W
substitute in equation 1
375/W = 2W-5
multiply both sides by W, you will get
375=2W2-5W
2W2-5W-375 = 0
(2W+25)(W-15)=0
W is either -12.5 meter (reject) or 15 meters (accept)
substitute in equation 1
L = 2W-5 = 30-5 = 25 meters
