Set the problem up as follows:
The total amount will be 100 kg. Let x be the kg of 50% chocolate, and 100-x be the amount of 10% chocolate. The problem can either be done with the fat-content as per cents, or as the decimal fractions; you get the same answer either way.
so,
50 (x) + 10 (100-x) = 22 (100)
50x + 1000 - 10x = 2200 (Subtract 1000 from both sides)
50x -10x = 2200 - 1000
40x = 1200 (divide both sides by 40)
x = 30 kg of 50% fat chocolate
100-x = 70 kg of 10% fat chocolate
