The question is confusing...

 

If the store is marking the speakers up 10%, it would charge $90 + 10% of $90 

 

$90 + (0.10)($90) = $90 + $9 = $99 

This is a 10%   mark up (not 110%), but it involves multiplying by 110% or 1.10  ($90 * 1.10 =$99)

 

 

If the store actually marks up the price by 110%, then it would sell the speakers for 

their cost $90 + 110% of $90

 

$90 + ($90)(1.10) = $90 + $99 =  $189

 

 

Can't really tell which of these the question is asking for...
