The question doesn't make sense what so ever. Can't just throw symbols without any explanation.
Only thing I could see
That If we have a equilateral right triangle with each side leg equal R√2:
a = b =√2 R
then Hypotenuse c equals :
c^2= a^2 + b^2 =( √2 R ) ^2 + (√2 R ) ^2 = 4R^2,
then :
c^2 + a^2 + b^2 =8R^2
