if cos=sin+ 1/(sqrt3) then what is cos^3-sin^3?

I used a^3-b^3=(a-b)(a^2+ab+b^2)
Answer should be a number
I finally got a^3-b^3= 1/(sqrt3)(1+ab)

Can't see what I'm doing wrong.
Please help.
