On the first day of ticket sales the school of sold 6 adult tickets and 4 child tickets for a total of 60.00.  the school took in 84.00 on the second day by selling 3 adult tickets and 11 child tickets.  What is the price each of one adult ticket and one child ticket?

solve these 2 simulteniously

 

4x+ 6y =60

-22x -6y=-168

x= 6

 

4(6)+6y=60

24+6y=60

6y=36

y=6
