Word Problem help please?

Please help me solve this word problem. A construction truck can carry 20 000kg of compost at a time. There are 25000. 15kg compost bags ready for delivery. How many trips will the truck need to do to deliver all the bags?

25,000 bags x 15 kg/bag = 375,000 kg
375,000 kg x 1 trip/20,000 kg = 18.75 = 19 trips required

3500kg of Sand was bought. 1/2 was used on a building project, 1/5 on a fish pond and 1/8 on a splash pool. How much of the sand is left? My answer is 2 and 27/40 or 2.675kg.. But don't think I have calculated it the correct way. I am struggling on how to deal with the 3500kg. Must I convert it to a fraction or decimal?
