A hospital parking lot charges $2.00 for the first hour or part thereof, and $1.00 for each additional hour or part thereof. A weekly pass costs $30.00 and allows unlimited parking for 7 days. If each visit Jonny makes to the hospital lasts twotwo and a half hours, what is the minimum number of visits for which buying a pass would be less expensive than paying each time?

Hello Dior. If you want the option of buying a pass to be less expensive, you want 30 < _____________. Let's find out what we should put in for the right side.
You said that each visit, Johnny parks for 2 and a half hours. Since the lot charges $2 for the first hour and $1 for each additional hour, it would be $2 for first hour+$2 for the later hour and a half. So each time he is paying $4. We don't know how many visits he made so let's call it x. Therefore, 4 times x goes to the right side of the inequality. 30 < 4x. Then you just need to solve for x.
