3/4 of the class are girls; 4/5 of those girls have brown hair.

Assuming that's what you're asking.  The question is a little unclear.

Sorry, I forgot to show work.
 
Basically if 3/4 of the class are girls, and 4/5 of those girls have brown hair, the way to find the number of the class that are girls with brown hair is to multiply girls by girls with brown hair.
 
3/4 x 4/5 = 12/20 = 3/5

But Kacie didn't write a number anywhere.  Just that 3/4 of the class is female and that 4/5 of those girls have brown hair.
 
so with the info given, 3/5 of the class are girls with brown hair.
 
If they want a number, then yes, we need more information.
