Count the number of each element on the left and right hand sides of the balanced chemical equation and see that the left and right sides have the same number:
Ag: 3x2 = 6 on the left, 6X1 = 6 on the right
S: 3x1 = 3 on the left, 3x1 = 3 on the right
O: 3x4 = 12 on the left, 3x4 = 12 on the right
Ni: 2x1 = 2 on the left, 2x1 = 2 on the right
On both sides of the equation, multiply the number of each element present by its atomic weight and add together the results of all the elements. The totals will be the same on both sides.
