Aluminum and oxygen react to form aluminum oxide. 4 Al + 3 O2 2 Al2O3

Aluminum and oxygen react to form aluminum oxide. 4 Al + 3 O2 2 Al2O3
What is the theoretical yield of Al2O3, in grams?
If 38.0 g of Al2O3 are obtained, what is the percent yield?

Britt P.

There is a key piece of information missing.  You need either the starting amount of aluminum or oxygen.  The theoretical yield is based on the stoichiometric calculation.

% yield = [Actual yield / theoretical yield] * 100 = [38.0 / ???] * 100
