Roller coaster acceleration

Question

a roller coaster is moving at 10m/s at the top of the hull and 22 m/s at the bottom of the hill two seconds later. Explain how to find the acceleration of the roller coaster then find the average acceleration

 

 

RolWould the answer be 4m/s squared or 6m/s squared?

One way assuming acceleration is constant is formula

v(t) = v(0)+at = 10+at

 

after 2 seconds 

22 = 10 + 2a

 

solve for a you get 

a = 6

 

The average acceleration is

a = [v(2)-v(0)]/[2-0] = 6 as well
