Question

There are 51 adults waiting in line to buy movie tickets. the ticket seller already sold 15 tickets. how many tickets does the teller still have if each adult received 3 movie tickets each?

Answer 1

3A = 15

A = 5

 

5 adults have already purchased 3 tickets each

 

This could mean that there are still 36 adults in

need of tickets....  It could mean that the 5 adults

who bought tickets each had 2 children with them

and 46 adults are still waiting to purchase tickets ...

 

Your question isn't very clear as to what you are

trying to determine.  Also, we have no way of knowing

how many tickets the seller has in the first place, or

how many he has left.  There is no information as to

the total number of seats in the theater.
