Hi, there many! For example in your body. Some people suffer from heartburn (gastric acid). Gastric acid is very acid with a low pH. Medication contains sodiumcarbonate (Na2CO3) or calciumcarbonate (CaCO3) (both react as base). The surplus of gastric acid will react with the base.
Or in agriculture. When the sol contains to much acid, the growth and yield of crops decreases. Added calciumcarbonate (as a base) can neutralize the soil.
