At 0 degrees celcius the tempe doesn't change even though 80 kcal is added, why doesn't the temperature change?

If you are referring to water, then the answer lies on the fact that at that temperature a phase transition occurs (solid to liquid). The temperature will not rise until all the ice has converted to liquid water.
