so

 

x+y=310

 

y=310-x

 

Total sales are $2022.50

 

4.75x +7.50y =2022.50

 

substitute the value of y in above equation

 

4.75x+7.50(310-x) = 2022.5

 

4.75x +2325 -7.50x =2022.5

 

302.5=2.75 x

 

x=110

 

y= 310-110=200

no. of people went to evening show = y =200
