The Average score of the first 6 games was 7.80 points per game. The Average score of the next 4 games was 11.2 points per game. What was the overall average score for all the game?!

Let S₁ = sum of scores for the first 6 games.  Then, S₁/6 = 7.8

                                                                 So, S₁ = (7.8)(6) = 46.8

 

Let S₂ = sum of scores for the next 4 games.  Then, S₂/4 = 11.2

                                                                 So, S₂ = (11.2)(4) = 44.8

 

So, Overall average = (Total score for all 10 games)/10

 

                            = (S₁ + S₂)/10 = 91.6/10 = 9.16
