Silvaria: Sorry your question is unintelligible, due to perhaps format changes. Do you mean f(x) = (1/x) -(1/5) ? If so, probably the answer is "the basic function is (1/x)", just offset -(1/5) in the y-direction. I'm not familiar with the terminology "basic function" but I assume it's a simpler function that has the same graph shape, just displaced on the x-y plane in some way? -- Regards, Stan
