Here is how I would answer this discussion post:
Young drivers have not seen enough car accidents to understand how serious the consequences of distracted driving can be. Young people are probably less likely than older adults to be financially responsible for their actions, so they are probably less likely to be cautious. That lack of accountability makes risky behavior easier to justify. Placing the financial burden onto the driver will make the driver more cautious. If you can't afford a new car, you probably will avoid wrecking the one you have. Also, some car insurance companies give you a discount if you use an app or device that shows you drive safely.
