We can use the gradient formula. Remember that it is gradient = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1). I will say that (1, 6) is (x1, y1).

 

-6 = (7 - 6) / (b - 1)

 

-6 * (b - 1) = 1

 

(b - 1) = - 1 / 6

 

b = 5 / 6
