i ^70 = i ^ 4 =(i ^4 ) 17 . i^2 = 1^17 . -1 = -1

For  exponents greater than 4 , always divide them by 4

     i ^70 = i ^ ( 4 * 17 + 2) = ( i ^4 ) ^17 * i^2 =( 1 ^17 ) ^4 * i^2 =i^2 = -1

       The reason for division by 4 is because i ^4 = 1 , the remainder is  either 1, 2, 3

         Say D = q . 4 +r
           i ^ D = ( i^4 ) ^ q + i ^r = 1 * i^r

           i ^D = i ^r   for i= 1,2,3
