Integers are all whole numbers,
both positive and negative, and zero.
..., -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, ...
There is no such thing as "the first
integer"
If you mean "write an expression
for the sum of 3 integers given
the 2nd integer is next consecutive
after the first and the 3rd integer is
the 4th consecutive integer"
Let x = 1st integer
x+1 = 2nd integer
x+3 = 3rd integer
Sum: x + x+1 + x+3 = 3x + 4
