   Percent given a number : part of the number/ whole  number , which is called ratio

 

     i'e .  35 is what percentage of 72

 

               35/ 72 = 0.49   / rounded off to hundred

 

                Once you find the ratio, fraction like the above.

 

                0.49 = 100 * 1/100

                       =  49 %

               

                 To convert any decimal number to percentage. Multiply the number by 100( shift decimal point

                  to right 2 positions, and insert % for division by 100. 

 

                      Whose value is : % = 1/100 = 0.01

 

                   Just like converting  dollar to cents

 

                    $ 0.49 = 49 c

                       0.49   = 49 %
