if 3/4 cup of packed brown sugar is needed for one batch of chocolate chip cookies, how much packed sugar is needed for five batches?

If 1 batch of cookies requires 3/4 cup of brown sugar then 5 batches requires 5 times as much sugar.

 

3/4 * 1 = 3/4 cup sugar for 1 batch.

 

3/4 * 5 = 15/4 = 3 and 3/4 cups sugar for 5 batches.
