There is a huge movie screen. The length is 20 feet longer than the height. The perimeter is 428 feet. What are the dimensions?

Perimeter = 2L + 2W = 2(L+W)
2(L+W) = 428
L = W + 20
Replace L with W+20
2(W+20 + W) = 428
2(2W + 20)=428
2W + 20 = 214
2W = 194
W = 97 ft
L = 97+20 = 117
Your dimensions are 117 ft by 97 ft
