Future height = 62 (2 years hence)
Current height = x (all these are measured in inches)
What is the question? If the question is write an equation giving his height at any MONTH in the following 2 years, we could say Height = x + (m/24)•(62-x)
This consists of the current height, plus a fraction (m/24) of the height difference that is to be made up in m months, assuming a CONSTANT rate of growth throughout this time.
Check it out. If m=0, Height is x; if m = 24, Height = x + 1•(62-x) which equals 62, after 2 full years (24 months).
Please let me know (or if) you like and understand this. BTW, m can be any value between 0 and 24, inclusive.
