Scott have 24 apples, He used 1/3 of them for apple pie,1/4 of them to make apple crisp , and kept  the rest for after snacks for his children. how many apples did Scott keep for snacks?

  24 - 24( 1/ 3 + 1/4) =

 

   24 ( 1 - 7/12) =

  

   24 ( 5/12) = 10

(1/3)24=8 for apple pie

(1/4)24=6 for apple crisp

24-(8+6)=x

24-8-6=x
