2w=length

1/2 of the perimeter is 90/2=45 feet

the width plus the length is half of the perimeter

2w+w=45

3w=45

w=45/3

w=15 feet

2w=30 feet

In this case, you only have one variable, since you know that length = 2w.  Remember that perimeter is the distance around, and you will find  2w+w+2w+w= 90 to be fitting of this rectangle.  Solve for w and your have one of the dimensions.
