Sodium chloride, NaCl is a strong electrolyte in water (this is for all soluble ionic compounds) which indicates that it is complete dissociated into cations (Na+) and anions (Cl-): NaCl(aq) → Na+(aq) + Cl-(aq)
Based on the stoichiometry of the reaction (1 mole of NaCl(aq) forms 1 mole of Na+(aq): #mol Na+ = #mol NaCl
with: # mol NaCl = molarity NaCl (mol/L) x Volume (L)
# mol NaC= 0.10 (mol/L) x 250 mL x (1L/1000 mL) = 0.025 mol NaCl
Since #mol Na+ = #mol NaCl
Then: #mol Na+ = 0.025 mol Na+
