If I understand correctly you just need to solve the first equation to find the value of x and then plug that value into the second equation.
5x+8=10
Subtract 8 from both sides
5x=2
Divide both sides by 5
x=(2/5)
Now plug that value into the second equation
10x+16=?
10(2/5)+16=?
4+16=20
