Using unit multipliers to convert yards to miles

In algebra 1 I am given the following problem:

 

Use two unit multipliers to write the expression needed to convert 2,500 yards to miles.

 

Please help.

First you need to convert yards to feet and then feet to miles.  

 

There are 3 ft in 1 yard.  And there are 5280 feet in 1 mile.  

 

So we set up the multiplication problem like this.  

 

2500 yards *  3 feet/1 yard * 1 mile/5280 feet       = (2500 * 3 * 1 )/( 1 *5280) = 7500/5280 = 1.42 miles

                        

 

 

Since they are only asking for an expression.  Then you would only need the first part of the problem.  I don't believe  you would need to solve it.
