On Tuesday Stefan bought seven CDs. On Wednesday half of all the CDs that he had were destroyed. On Thursday there were 13 CDs left. How many did he have on Monday?

Tues after shopping: x+7

Wed: ½(x+7) = 13

 

Therefore x+7 = 26  and so x = 19.   ⇐Answer
