If you meant 8 mL to fluid ounces, we would do it like this:
Recall that multiplying anything by 1 gives you exactly the same number, right?
Let's use the conversion that you were given to build something that is equal to 1.
If you divide both sides by 1 mL, you get:
1 = 0.034 fl oz / 1 mL
Now, multiply your 8 mL by that '1'. If we picked the correct way to rearrange the '1' ratio, the units of mL should be on the bottom. Units cancel in the same exact way as 'x' does in a normal math equation. So, the units of mL cancel, and we're left with just fl. oz. on top. This is exactly what we wanted.
8 mL * (0.034 fl. oz. / 1 mL) = 0.272 fl. oz.
I hope this helps!
