Knowns/Formulas:
1 cm^3 = 1 mL
1 kg = 1000 g
D = M/V
Solving the equation:
1.) D = M/V (where D =19.3g/cm^3 and M = 424.6kg = 424,600 g)
19.3 g/cm^3 = 424,600 g/ V
2.) Multiply both sides by V: multiply the right side of the equation by V, which would cancel it out on the right side.
19.3 g/cm^3 (V) = 424,600 g
3.) Now divide both sides by D (19.3 g/cm^3).
V = 22,000 cm^3
4.) We must now convert this volume to liters.
V = 22,000 cm^3 = 22,000 ml
22,000 ml X (1 liter/1000 mL) = 22 L
